If you can brave the chilly weather and unpredictable rain in Tuscany, then this time period in Florence is absolutely magical. The streets are not overwhelmed with tourists, there is a silence in the air, and all the beautiful Christmas lights & beautiful window displays fill the city streets. If you want to experience an eyegasm, come here during Christmas, you will not be disappointed.
Luisa Via Roma, hands down - takes the cake (again) for the most incredible, creative window display I have seen this Christmas season. A pregnant Madonna, "Like A Virgin" is currently being displayed in their grande window on Via Roma by Piazza Repubblica. I cannot wait to get inside to see the other 5 installations that are currently on display as part of a charity event for the cancer ward of Florence's Meyer's Childrens Hospital.

Merry Christmas to everyone wherever you may be!
Happy Holidays, Feliz Navidad, Happy Hanukkah!
